Marcio Luis Bezerra, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
About
Marcio Luis Bezerra, Ph.D., retired from the Brazilian Army in 2015 at the rank of Major, following 22 years of service. He worked as a graduate assistant during his Ph.D. program, and as an industrial hygiene associate for two years before joining the UCO faculty as an assistant professor in the fall of 2021.
Part of his army career was spent as an instructor at ROTC and Captain's Career School. He also spent a portion of my career as an officer at the Airborne Brigade, in Rio de Janeiro. His experiences in the army, as well as his seek for knowledge enhanced his appreciation for the "occupational health and safety" field. This experience also supported his pursuit of a doctoral degree in occupational and environmental health / industrial hygiene from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, which he successfully completed in December of 2020.
