About
Jera Winters is a grant writer in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. She helps faculty, staff and students to locate and apply for external funding opportunities.
Education and Certifications
Winters holds a B.A. from St. Gregory's University in humanities in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and an M.A. in theatre arts (theory, history, and criticism) from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She did post-graduate work at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Classes Taught
Winters has taught as a graduate assistant at OSU and LSU, and as an adjunct at Rose State College in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Experience
Winters served as a state employee for the state of Oklahoma with the Oklahoma Historical Society for more than 10 years, and before that, with the Department of Human Services. She has also worked in the insurance industry and for the federal government at Tinker Air Force Base.
Interests
In her free time, Winters creates visual art. She started using painting techniques learned in her undergrad degree in scenic design and has expanded in materials and techniques from there. She works in acrylic, pencil, pastel and ink, and is starting to use oil paints.
Winters also enjoys video games and is usually playing an indie game of point-and-click adventure game, story-heavy, or strategy/world-building varieties.
