Public Relations Coordinator (temporary position) - (July 1995 to January 1996) Cellular One/AT&T Wireless Services, Oklahoma City, OK

  • Oversaw Cellular One’s internal and external public relations campaigns during its rebranding as AT&T in Oklahoma and Arkansas
  • Coordinated  internal and external special events
  • Revamped all printed materials, collateral items and sales aids to insure compliance with AT&T graphic standards
  •  Supervised company's United Way campaign arranging meetings, speakers, partner agency tours and employee donation process

 

President - (March 1994 to July 1995 when the organization closed) Central Oklahoma Economic Development Association, Oklahoma City, OK

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of public/private marketing agency charged with promoting the six counties that make up the Oklahoma City metro area to companies considering relocating or expanding
  • Created marketing strategy and produced all collateral materials
  •  Communicated state, county and municipal economic incentive packages

  • Coordinated and chose directory cover art for more than 400 telephone directories  produced annually in Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas for nation’s largest Regional Bell Operating Company’s publication subsidiary
  • Hired and supervised company's staff of freelance photographers
  • Implemented  new directory cover design companywide and oversaw extensive research and development efforts
  • Managed company's 37-market direct mail program
  • Acted as liaison  between  company and its advertising agency and database vendor

Manager - (August 1989 to August 1992) Southwestern Bell Telephone, Oklahoma City, OK

Served in a host of capacities in the Public Relations department of the nation's largest Regional Bell Operating Company. 

 Manager of Advertising:

  • Oversaw  $750,000 state budget
  • Formulated and executed advertising programs, including copy writing, layout and coordinating with artists, photographers and printers for business, residence and special services customers
  • Served on cross functional teams as public relations subject matter expert for new products and services
  • Responsible for all customer communications and producing collateral materials including brochures, bill inserts, sales aids, exhibits and videos
  • Placed and purchased statewide Yellow Pages advertising
  • Coordinated 1990 United Way campaign, the most successful in years 
  • Organized special events for customers and key contacts and trade show participation
  • Managed company's customer demonstration center, a showcase for state-of-the-art technology
  • Wrote for  company's house organ
  • Temporarily charged with supervision of company’s copy bureau and its 15 non-management employees

 Manager of Community Relations:

  • Provided support for staff of 30 field customer relations managers statewide
  • Served as Oklahoma coordinator for a national high school civics and history competition, generating the highest participation rate in the nation

 

 Manager of News Relations:

  • Created news releases and other support materials to assist field managers gain publicity
  • Tracked and reported company news coverage
  • Produced reports on company’s community relations efforts statewide

 

Special Projects Coordinator - (October 1987 to August 1989) Saint Francis Hospital, Tulsa, OK

  • Promoted  hospital relations with local press and physicians, preparing news releases, planning special events and purchasing radio advertising time for Oklahoma’s largest hospital
  • Formulated strategies to tap new and increase existing revenue streams
  • Produced a quarterly newsletter for 1,300 area physicians
  • Reported and took photos for monthly employee newspaper and wrote for hospital magazine
  • Wrote scripts for radio public service announcements and for programs on patient education television channel and local public television station

 

Reporter /Editor- (September 1984 to October 1987) Tulsa World, Tulsa, OK

  • Researched and wrote news stories for Oklahoma’s second-largest circulation newspaper

  • Oversaw production in the composing room

Ms. Nagle has operated her own freelance writing business for nearly 20 years. Major clients include Edmond Life and Leisure, OKC Business News and Metro Family.  A list of articles is on Digital Measure.

Teaching Philosophy

Ms. Nagle believes teaching is more about learning.  Instructors must determine how students best absorb the material and endeavor to deliver it in that way.  Over the last 16 years, technology has advanced exponentially and has changed not only how students learn, but how society operates as a whole.  Ms. Nagle has always been eager to adapt to new methodology while keeping the principles of communication and business etiquette, which never change, at the forefront.
