Experience

I spent nine years practicing law as an employment attorney and twelve years in human resources leadership before leaving the corporate world to follow my passion for teaching.  In private practice, I represented large manufacturers, fast food restaurants, a large national craft retailer and a multi-state health care system.  As in-house counsel and as an HR leader, I worked with the largest health care provider and one of the largest employers in the state.  I ended my career as the Chief Experience and Talent Officer and Vice-President for Human Resources and Community Wellness.   In that time, I partnered with, served in leadership capacities for and provided presentations to many national HR associations including World at Work, the World Congress and ASHHRA (the hospital affiliate of SHRM).   Here are the national presentations I have delivered over the last decade:

  • Panelist for the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine Global Forum in Washington, DC, April, 2018, on Leadership and Resiliency,
  • World at Work National Webinar, July 2014, on Health Care Reform,
  • World at Work National Conference in Philadelphia, PA in April, 2013, on Health Care Reform,
  • World Congress Wellness & Prevention Conference in Santa Monica, CA, in May 2012, on Wellness,
  • World at Work National Conference in San Diego, CA in May, 2011, on Wellness,
  • World at Work National Conference in Dallas, TX in May, 2010, on Health Care Reform,
  • Panelist at the National HERO Institute Conference in Orlando, FL in September, 2010, on Health Care Reform,
  • The National ASHHRA (Hospital affiliate of SHRM) Conference in Austin, TX, October 2008, on HR’s Use of Technology,
