About
Maurice Haff is an innovation and entrepreneurship educator. He helps his students learn the constructs of innovation and how to develop an entrepreneurial mindset in all facets of their lives. He combines understanding of intellectual property (IP) with entrepreneurial skills to show students how to create and launch new ventures. He guides and mentors students as innovators and entrepreneurs, connecting to foster creativity, understanding, motivation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Haff is an IP professional and registered U. S. Patent Agent, with experiential knowledge of the entrepreneurial process gained in four startup ventures. He has engaged in creating, building and commercializing technology based products, and developing business-focused IP. As an entrepreneur and patent professional, he is engaged in realizing value from IP in the technology sector, including IP rights formation, commercializing patentable technology from R&D, building strong patent portfolios, monetizing patents, and creating value for society.

Experience
Haff has been teaching entrepreneurship and innovation at UCO since 2012. He is currently serves as Director of Patent Strategy and Monetization at the law firm of Berenato & White, LLC and has held this position since 2009. In 1998, he founded Hyperspace Communications Inc. and was CEO until 2007. He has successfully started and lead the operations of three technology-based companies from product concept to commercialization. He is named inventor on 15 U.S. Patents. He has 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur in both commercial and government markets. His experience with patents, product development, government contracting, and new ventures provides a key resource for student learning at UCO.
