Former students have performed on Broadway, with the New York City Opera and on cruise ships and with touring companies around the world. Others have directed symphony orchestras, and several have earned advanced degrees and also teach at the college and university level. Still others are active in community theater and church music activities.

Active in community service, when not on stage or on the bench, Johnson directs the Chancel Choir at First Christian Church, Midwest City. He is an FAA certificated private pilot and member of the EAA “Young Eagles” program, introducing school-age youth to the wonders of flight.
