Jakey Dobbs joined UCO in September 2015 as the coordinator of Student Leadership Training through the Office of Leadership Central. During her time in this role, she advised the President’s Leadership Council and Leaders of Tomorrow, as well as managed the UCO Leadership Academy and OKC Leaders in Training program.
Jakey holds a bachelor’s degree in communication with an emphasis in public relations from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. After graduation, she worked for Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority Headquarters based out of Indianapolis, Indiana, as the volunteer coordinator where she oversaw the general volunteer recruitment, training, retention, evaluation and recognition in the volunteer structure.
As of January 2018, Jakey serves the UCO community as a professional development specialist through the Office of Human Resources with her primary role as the Leadership UCO and Leadership UCO Alumni program coordinator. Her other responsibilities include facilitating New Employee Orientations (NEOs), online content designer and curriculum writer. She is also a Certified Learning Environment Architect (CLEA) through UCO’s Center for eLearning and Connected Environments department. Jakey will complete her M.Ed. in Adult and Higher Education with an emphasis in Training from the University of Central Oklahoma May 2019.
