About
Dr. Anna Roach is a freelance performer and teacher in the Oklahoma City area, where she currently maintains a large private studio and is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Central Oklahoma and the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. She was previously the adjunct clarinet instructor at Lubbock Christian University. She holds degrees from Texas Tech University and the University of North Texas.
An active performer, Dr. Roach has performed with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, Abilene Philharmonic, Lubbock Ballet Orchestra, the Oklahoma Composer’s Orchestra, and the Taneycomo Festival Orchestra on clarinet and Eb clarinet. Recently, as a part of the Texas Tech Woodwind Quintet, she was awarded a fellowship at the Chamber Music Institute in Lincoln, Nebraska where she performed chamber music and coached by the Chiara String Quartet.
Anna is also a Reserve Method Clinician for D’Addario Woodwinds, for which she frequently gives masterclasses and lectures across the state of Oklahoma as well as Texas.
Dr. Roach is passionate about researching and performing the works of female composers. Her dissertation, “Uncovering Deon Nielsen Price: A Biography and Case-Study of Her Clarinet Works” was recognized with high praise at the 2016 International Clarinet Association’s Clarinetfest in Lawrence, Kansas.
With a fervent dedication to quality of education, community, and the development of new music, Dr. Roach continues to perform in chamber music recitals, public school concerts, outreach programs, clarinet masterclasses and workshops, and new music concerts.
Dr. Roach performs on Selmer Prestige clarinets in addition to D'Addario Reserve mouthpieces and Reserve Classic reeds.
