Claire Painter holds a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Oklahoma. After graduation, Claire began her professional career as a first grade teacher in Norman Public Schools. While she enjoyed teaching, she realized that her true passion rested in working with college age students which led her to pursue a Master’s Degree in Adult and Higher Education with an emphasis in Student Affairs from the University of Oklahoma.

Prior to joining the UCO family, Claire served as a programs specialist and campus tour coordinator in OU Graduate Student Life. While in Graduate Student Life her focus was on creating events and programs that met the broad spectrum of professional, social, and academic needs of graduate students.

As Coordinator for Student Leadership Training, Claire advises President’s Leadership Council and Leaders of Tomorrow, as well as manages the UCO Leadership Academy and OKC Leaders in Training program. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member on campus. Claire is active within the Edmond community by participating in multiple community boards and organizations, including the Edmond Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Edmond and Youth Leadership Edmond programs.

When she’s not on campus you can find her enjoying the lake with her family, watching movies, searching for the best queso in the metro, going on walks with her husband, Sam, and dog, Mabel, or curating new playlists on Spotify.
