Consistent with revised CDC guidance, vaccinated individuals are recommended to wear a mask when in public indoor spaces where COVID-19 virus transmission is considered substantial or high. Oklahoma County is currently listed as an area of high transmission by the CDC. The CDC further recommends that unvaccinated individuals continue to wear a mask when around others indoors, regardless of their area’s rate of transmission.

Claire Painter holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Oklahoma. After graduation, Claire began her professional career as a first-grade teacher in Norman Public Schools. Prior to joining the UCO family, Claire served as a programs specialist and campus tour coordinator in OU Graduate Student Life. While in Graduate Student Life, her focus was on creating events and programs that met the broad spectrum of professional, social and academic needs of graduate students.
As assistant director of Student Leadership, Claire advises the President’s Leadership Council and Leaders of Tomorrow, as well as manages the UCO Leadership Academy and OKC Leaders in Training program. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member on campus. Claire is active within the Edmond community by participating in multiple community boards and organizations, including the Edmond Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Edmond and Youth Leadership Edmond programs.
When she’s not on campus you can find her enjoying the lake with her family, watching movies, searching for the best queso in the metro, going on walks with her husband Sam and dog Mabel or curating new playlists on Spotify.
