UCO Invites Community To Veterans Day Ceremony

The University of Central Oklahoma Veteran Higher Education Resource Office (VetHERO), along with Central’s Student Veterans of America organization and Career Services office, will honor those who served our country with a Veterans Day ceremony at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12 at Plunkett Park, located in the center of Central’s campus.

The ceremony will include the Central Sound Brass Quintet performing the National Anthem and other patriotic songs.

Oklahoma Army National Guard Capt. David Jordan will serve as the ceremony’s chaplain, giving the invocation and benediction, and will address the audience. Other speakers include retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. David Hartmann, Ph.D., who is also a Central faculty member, and retired U.S. Army Maj. Carl Boyes, currently a manager in the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs Claims and Benefits Division.

The ceremony is free and open to the public.
