UCO School of Music Presents 'All Brahms Concert'

The University of Central Oklahoma School of Music will kick off the spring semester of performances with the “All Brahms Concert” showcasing compositions by Johannes Brahms, 19th century German composer, at 7:30 p.m., Jan. 22 at the UCO Jazz Lab located in Edmond.           

The performance is a part of the School of Music’s Faculty Artist Concert Series, a yearlong performance series featuring the talents of Central music faculty members.  All performances take place on Tuesday nights at 7:30 p.m. at the Jazz Lab.

Central music faculty members featured in the “All Brahms Concert” include cellist Tess Remy-Schumacher, D.M.A., vocalist Marilyn Govich, D.M.A., clarinetist Dawn Lindblade, D.M.A., and pianists David Forbat, D.M.A., and Ben Davis.           

The Faculty Artists Concert Series provides Central music faculty members with the opportunity to collaborate with one another to deliver unique, innovative performances to both the Central and Edmond communities.           

“Getting to share an artistic experience with my colleagues is just exhilarating,” said Govich. 

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling the UCO School of Music at (405) 974-5004.  Admission is free for Central students, faculty and staff with a Central I.D.  Half of the proceeds will go toward Central Music Scholarships, and the rest will support the school.
