WILLIAMS CROWNED ‘MISS UCO 2017’

The University of Central Oklahoma recently crowned Lacey Williams, a junior professional media major from Edmond, Oklahoma, as Miss UCO 2017 on Nov. 12 during the 41st Annual Miss UCO Scholarship Pageant. Williams, a graduate from Edmond North High School, will compete for the Miss Oklahoma title in June 2017.

Faith Suddath, a junior fashion marketing major from Choctaw, Oklahoma, won first runner-up and the Outstanding Talent Award, followed by second-runner up Leigha Elizabeth Briscoe, a senior fashion marketing major from Washington, Oklahoma; third runner-up and winner of the People’s Choice Award Kady Peterman, a junior elementary education major from Chandler, Oklahoma; and fourth runner-up and winner of the Directors’ Award Sayre Whiteley, a freshman political science major and a native of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

“The Miss UCO Scholarship Pageant provides young women with an opportunity to earn scholarship money and other prizes,” said UCO President Don Betz.

“Yet, one of the most valuable keepsakes they will take with them is the knowledge that all of them have done their best to reach their goals and persisted to achieve them. They are all truly winners.”

Prizes for the pageant include a $2,100 UCO tuition waiver and a $500 cash scholarship for Miss UCO, a $1,250 UCO tuition waiver for first runner-up and second runner-up, a $1,000 UCO tuition waiver for third runner-up and fourth runner-up, and a $100 cash scholarship for the Outstanding Talent, Swimsuit/Fitness and Director’s Award winners.
