UCO Endeavor Games Series Announces National Partners

As the University of Central Oklahoma Endeavor Games Series prepares to host athletes with physical disabilities from across the nation for two weekends of competition, four national partners are working alongside the series to help make the Endeavor Games events a success.

Turnstone, a nonprofit organization that provides supportive services for the unique needs of people with physical disabilities and their families, has partnered with the UCO Endeavor Games Series to host the series’ first event of the year, the Turnstone Endeavor Games, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on April 21.

The 18th annual UCO Endeavor Games will follow, occurring June 8-11, at the UCO Wellness Center on Central’s campus.

Additional national partners include Hanger Clinic, a network of more than 800 patient care clinics nationwide, that provide the latest in orthotic and prosthetic solutions, and Disabled Sports USA, whose mission is to provide national leadership and opportunities for individuals with disabilities to develop independence, confidence and fitness, through participation in community sports, recreation and educational programs.

U.S. Paralympics, a division of the United States Olympic Committee, also serves as a national partner for the games, as their Gateway to Gold initiative connects people with Paralympic-eligible impairments to various Paralympic sports and acts as an athlete pipeline to U.S. Paralympic teams.

“The Endeavor Games Series is vital to our Paralympic pathway, that helps to introduce new athletes to available sports and helps to provide experienced athletes an arena for competitive opportunities,” said U.S. Olympic Committee Chief of Paralympic Sport Rick Adams.

“We have already seen athletes come out of the Endeavor Games Series and excel at the national level, and we’re excited to have a presence at the events to introduce these athletes to the resources they have available through U.S. Paralympics and our Gateway to Gold program.”
