UCO Center for eLearning and Connected Environments Earns International, State Awards

The University of Central Oklahoma’s Center for eLearning and Connected Environments (CeCE) once again has showcased its excellence, recently winning three awards for its leadership, innovation and excellence.

The United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) presented UCO CeCE with the 21st Century Distance Learning Award and the Innovation Award at the 2017 USDLA International Distance Learning Awards, in conjunction with the 2017 USDLA National Conference, in Indianapolis, April 30-May 3.

The 21st Century Distance Learning Award celebrates outstanding leadership in the field of distance learning, recognizing organizations that pioneer and shape the future of the industry. Similarly, the Innovation Award recognizes unique solutions to Learning Environment Modeling and Learning Environment Modeling Language and the significant impact they have on distance learning.

On the state level, UCO CeCE received additional recognition for its leadership, innovation, collaboration and learning results in online education, as the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and the Council for Online Learning Excellence awarded CeCE with the 2017 Oklahoma Online Learning Excellence Award for an Institution Team or Program in April.

“These awards recognize the collective spirit of innovation, teamwork and excellence that is advancing blended learning experiences at the University of Central Oklahoma,” said Bucky Dodd, Ph.D., executive director of CeCE.

“The Center for eLearning and Connected Environments is committed and energized to help students and educators learn and teach in accessible and progressive ways. This recognition is evidence of our premier level of dedication to helping our students succeed in today’s ever-changing and dynamic academic and professional environments.”

CeCE supports UCO’s commitment to transformative learning, through the strategic use of consulting, production, logistics and innovation services designed to provide high-quality, flexible and student-centered learning.
