UCO Nationally Named a Top School for Scholarship Funding

As a new generation of students faces growing challenges with funding in higher education, scholarship aid serves an increasingly important role in helping students pursue post-secondary degrees.

In an effort to highlight schools where scholarship aid is prevalent, The Student Loan Report released its 2017 list of “Public Colleges Where Undergraduates Receive the Most Scholarship Aid,” naming the University of Central Oklahoma to its top 25.

With an average of $1,084 awarded per undergraduate student, Central ranks No. 22 on the list, which also includes The Citadel, the University of Virginia and The University of Arizona.

Rankings for the list are based on Peterson’s Financial Aid data, which provided college-reported statistics for academic year 2015-16, with analysis for more than 500 different public, four-year colleges. Only the top 250 schools made the list, and each school was ranked from highest to lowest according to average scholarship financial aid per undergraduate.

With strong connections throughout the Oklahoma City metro, the University of Central Oklahoma is dedicated to developing in students the confidence to succeed through transformative learning experiences.

Central prides itself as a smart investment for success, preparing future leaders in an opportunity-rich environment, with access to more than 200 student organizations and the internship, employment, entertainment and cultural offerings of the rapidly growing Oklahoma City metropolitan area.

Founded in 1890, Central connects its more than 16,000 students to unmatched value found in 115 undergraduate areas of study and 74 graduate majors from its main campus in Edmond and facilities throughout the metro area. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
