UCO Named ‘Most Affordable’ Public University in Oklahoma in 2018 College Consensus Rankings

The University of Central Oklahoma ranks as the most affordable public university in Oklahoma according to College Consensus’ list of the “100 Most Affordable College and Universities” in the nation. UCO ranks no. 75 on the list.

UCO President Don Betz said the rankings highlight the unmatched value of transformative learning experiences at Central.

“We recognize that our students are making an investment in their future success when they choose to pursue a degree at Central,” Betz said. “That is why we are committed to offering high quality and value throughout our campus. It is an honor to have that commitment nationally recognized.”

To create its list of the “100 Most Affordable Colleges and Universities,” College Consensus began only with schools that qualify for a “College Consensus score.” This score combines the average results of reputable college ranking publishers and real student reviews. College Consensus then ranked qualifying schools according to the cost of their tuition, based on the most recent out-of-state tuition and fee information from the National Center for Education Statistics.

With strong connections throughout the Oklahoma City metro, the University of Central Oklahoma is dedicated to developing in students the confidence to succeed through transformative learning experiences. Founded in 1890, Central connects its nearly 16,000 students to unmatched value found in 121 undergraduate areas of study and 76 graduate programs from its main campus in Edmond and facilities throughout the metro area.  The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
