UCO Receives $1 Million Donation from MidFirst Bank to Establish Match Scholarship Fund

The University of Central Oklahoma Foundation recently received a $1 million donation from MidFirst Bank to establish the MidFirst Match Scholarship Fund. Newly established scholarships benefiting incoming UCO students are eligible for a match from this fund. The MidFirst Match Scholarship Fund will provide $2 million in newly endowed scholarships for qualifying students.

“We firmly believe that investing in the education of our students is investing in the future of our community,” said Art Cotton, president of the UCO Foundation.

“We are grateful for the impact these scholarships have on the recipients and their families—we remain committed to taking UCO from success to significance. By working with our corporate partners like MidFirst Bank, we can enhance the quality of education and ensure that our students have the skills and experience they need to excel in their careers.”

The match program will be available to donors while funds are available and will begin benefiting qualifying students in the 2024-25 school year. Students are encouraged to apply for scholarships during the open application period each season, typically during January and February.

“We are proud to make this donation and partner with the UCO Foundation to help students pursue their academic goals and career dreams,” said Jeff Records, chairman and CEO of MidFirst Bank.

“Pursuing higher education can be financially challenging for many students, and we believe scholarships are critical to making education more accessible. MidFirst is passionate about supporting the communities where we operate—we look forward to having a meaningful and positive impact on UCO students’ lives.”
